Babe for The Voice Within

I have invited Babe, a.k.a Jashar, a.k.a my Fiance, to contribute his writting to The Voice Within.

We were IM-ing each other the other day, when Babe asked me,

Babe: Wat r u doin?
Me: I'm blogging.
Babe: Cool.

Babe: I'm bored..
Me: Mayb u can start writting. Pour ur heart content. u'll feel better.
Babe: Yeah, I guess I can try dat.
Me: Write in my Blog, for a start. C if u're a natural..

So there I was, granting Babe the access to write for The Voice Within.

"But wat shud I write about?"

"Anything! Just make sure u don't go overboard wit ur entry, dat's all..."

I have modified The Voice Within a bit, to welcome Babe in... To make him feel at home.. Hehe..

Babe hasn't contribute anything yet, but I am giving him time to think of an item to write about for his first ever entry.

Let's see if he likes what I like... ;p

The Way I Am - A Dedication To My Fiance, Jashar Hamzah

If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I'd find a match.

Cause I love the way you say good morning.
And you take me the way I am.

If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
Your head is aching, I'll make it better.

Cause I love the way you call me baby.
And you take me the way I am.
I'd buy you Rogaine when you start losing all your hair.
Sew on patches to all you tear.

Cause I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.

Diamonds are A Girl's Best Friend!

... and I am sure mine is! On Sunday December the 14th, I accepted the engagement ring as a blessing to our relationship.

It's been 9 Days since Jashar Hamzah and I got engaged. It's been blissful... The moment I accepted the ring from my future Mother-in-Law ( whom I officially called 'Mama' on the very same day), I know for sure that this is what I've been wanting in this relationship, and it's what I've been waiting for.

Many had asked me, how does it feels to be engaged? I'll tell you how I feel. It's been my pleasure to elaborate how my days go by the minute I am Babe's Fiancee. Here it is - It's like falling in love the first time, everyday. We've never been happier! Plus, we still can't believed we're engaged now, because, as how Azera puts it, we're practically married, we just need to make it official. Even Abah said to me once, just go ahead with the solemnization, you don't need to get engaged, sekarang pon dah macam bertunang, right?

Call me lame, or uncool, which ever, but I don't want to rush into things. I respect my Malay Wedding traditions. I want to go through all four procedures.I want to be able to introduce Babe as my Fiance, and not from my Boyfriend, straight to my Husband.

So the agreed engagement period is one year. Not exactly one year though, since Babe and I have decided for the Solemnization to take place on December 5th, 2009 (it's one of the special dates that we celebrate each year together, will tell you about it soon!),and the Reception to be on held on December 6th, 2009.

Many had asked me this too, from my best friends, to my childhood friends, to my colleagues in office whom have known of our long-time relationship - Why wait until a year to get hitched? I'll tell you why - Because (again) I don't want to rush into things, and that I want my Big Day to be how I wanted it to be. I want to take the time to plan, to gather ideas, to get opinions, and have ample time to do so because I want my day to be memorable not just for the two of us, but to those who will come, and also our families who put their back into this in order to make it happen. There. I said it all. All in one shot.

Alhamdullilah, my Syukur to Allah the Almighty for His Blessing on that day. The ceremony went according to plan, and the Reception was a success. It was beautiful. I am happy that those who came felt much at home, and it's all thanks and much love to both my parents for making it happened.I am happy that my side of the family got along with Babe's side of the family almost instantly that day although they have never met before. Maybe because my mother's side of the family is from Perak, and so is Babe's mom (They both lived in the same district back in Perak, so there is a fair chance that they recognized each other from back then).

I have yet to upload the photos of my engagement anywhere - Facebook or here. I have them transferred on to the computer already, only that I don't have time to upload it here. Will do it during my days off at home during the weekend.

Before I sign off to continue gazing and admiring my new Rock, I have got some Thank Yous to make to these special people.

My Beautiful Family.

To Mama & Abah - Thank you so much for blessing our relationship. Thanks so much for making this day happen. Thanks sooo much for taking care of everything! It proves that these kind of things are really at your fingertips. I can't thank enough. You've done sooo much for me. Everyone was happy with the Reception.

To my 3 Beautiful Sisters, Along, Mimie and Uyuun - Along, thanks for getting the Songket and the Kain Pelikat for my Hantaran. They are beautiful and Jashar loved it too. Thanks also for getting Kak Azza to do my make up. I love it despite the Big Bird eyelashes she glued on. Mimie, thanks for helping me choose the Kain for my Baju Kurung. It turned out fabulous on that day. Thanks for choosing the chocolates and also the Cake. And Uyuun, thanks for helping me out with my Hantarans earlier in the day. Also thanks for coming with me to the tailor to get my Baju Kurung made. Thanks also for entertaining the guests, you guys were awesome.

To my Big Brother, Memer - Thanks for taking the photographer role that day. I loved all the images you took. From the Mohawk hairdo shot in my room when Kak Azza was doing my hair to the final moments before I take of my makeup, they're all perfect.

To my One and only Sister-in-Law, Kak Ida - Thanks for helping out with last minutes work. Thanks for always convincing me that my make up looked great despite having to put up with my running in and out of your room asking you if I really do looked OK.

My Girls.

To my dear Azera - I am sorry for making you "mad at me for staying far away from KL". I am happy you came and that you'd "drop everything just to be here with me". I would do the same for you too. Thanks for walking down the stairs with me.

To my dear Azura - Thanks for taking the flight from Kedah just to share my Big Day with me..I am happy you could make it and thanks for the Strawberries you guys! Love it! =)
Seeing the two of you on that day reminded me of the Good Old Days... (Now I am holding back happy tears)

To my dear Nadya - I was surprised to see you arrived first. You caught me by surprise. =) Thanks for calming me down while ZeRr and Zura took the wrong route on their way to my house and ended up somewhere I don't even know where. (Sorry if the many "EXIT" junctions on my map confused you, ZeRr ;p). And also, thanks for making Bojed wait downstairs while you wait in my room just to walk me down the stairs. ;p Oh yea, many thanks also to Bojed for helping out ZeRr to find my house.

To my dear Mas - I am happy you came too! ;p. Thanks for walking me down the stairs although you're married (I am not sure if it's a taboo but I am sure that has nothing to do with it) Oh yeah Sorry also that you've to make Odie wait downstairs during the ceremony so you can wait with me in my room.. =)

Lastly, to my dear Anita - Thanks for taking the trouble to find my house, although you've forgotten to bring the map that I had emailed to you. I heard you went further up (Thanks Nadya for giving good instruction). I am so happy to see you came... ;p You look great. Say Hi to Baby Junior for me.

Finally, to my dear Fiance, Jashar Hamzah - I am so happy to have come this far with you. It's been wonderful being with you for the past 10 years of our relationship. Thanks for believing in me the way I believe in you. It's been blissful being your Fiancee and You make it real for me..

Now, say hello to my new "best friend", the "Rock"....

The Voice Within says : Nadya's Solemnization is in 2 Days! To Nadya: Don't forget to lompat setempat OK?

9 days more and counting!

I have 9 days more until I am officially Jashar Hamzah's fiancee.

Don't ask me about my feelings... I got butterflies down my stomach now and then, excited - definitely... Gosh. The days are coming, and I can hardly wait. I've been waiting for this moment for 10 years. 10 years full of memories, both sad and good memories.

A friend of mine has been asking me about my preparation. Write an entry on it, she said. She wanted to read all about it! But I can't. Firstly, I've been trying to keep it on the low - I am a sentimental person, like to keep some things to myself. Secondly, it isn't going to be a surprise! No fair, you'll know what I'll be giving to my guests when they come on the day!

OK. So I've decided to reveal some stuff here on the preparation, for Anita darling, since she's bringing over a very very special guest with her on my engagement ceremony... Say hello to the Mommy-to-be.

So I've got 9 Days left until the big day.

I've got the hantarans ready, - 7 trays from me, 5 from babe.
I love lilies so my flowers on that day will be pink and white lilies.
Even my cake has lilies on it too.

My outfit, is a Modern Kurung, and it'll be ready tomorrow. I can't wait to try it on... Hope I can fit in it though, the measurements took was sooo one month ago. Hope I didn't expand anywhere...

For my guests - my girls who are going to be there, I've got something special for them to bring home.
For Babe's guests - I've got something special for the ladies too.
For my guests - Something special too for the ladies.

My beautiful mother has taken care of the buffet, the decorations, and the guest list. While my beautiful dad has taken care of the master of ceremony, the guest list, and tents. Owh what will I do without them.. After one engagement and two weddings, they could never go wrong...

I've got some little things to take care of, that is to distribute the map to my house. We've just moved here almost 2 years ago, so some aren't really familiar of this area. Got the map ready, just need the emails to email them to my friends.

Guess that's about it. Will update again. Hope it'll turn out fine that day. I am not hoping for a big ceremony. Just a simple one and that all goes well...
